Chiara Forte

Chiara Raimondo
1919 – 2014

It is with great sadness that we have learnt of the death of Chiara Forte (née Raimondo) at home in New Ross, Ireland, last night.

Originally from Bari, she married Elio Forte from Mortale in 1942 and, together, they have lovingly raised a wonderful and close family in the Waterford, Wexford and New Ross areas of Southern Ireland.  She was a very special person, who will be missed by all, but especially by her dear husband, Elio, and the families of all their children Teresa, Tella, Bice, Giovanni, the late Francesca, Tony and Gilda, including their 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.  Condolences also to Chiara’s family from Bari, many of whom are well known in Mortale.

New 1991 films

S Antonio Abate 1991Three new films have just been placed on the Forte Family History website.

The first shows the 1991 Festa di S. Antonio Abate, a small celebration held every year on 17th January.  Go to Festas on Film to see this film.

Another shows the 1991 Easter Sunday mass, which was held in Mortale’s village hall because the church was being redecorated and refurbished.  And finally, in October 1991, the church was reopened and Ettore Forte was there to capture the first mass to be held back in the Church of St. Anthony.  Go to Film Pages to see these two films.
