We are sad to hear that Olga Forte passed away at the age of 95 in the early hours of this morning at her home in Casalvieri, surrounded by her family.
Olga was the youngest of the ten children of Giovanni and Maria Teresa Forte from Mortale. She was predeceased by her nine siblings, Luigi, Pasquale, Antonio, Guerino, Porzia, Giaconda, Elio, Maria and Annunziata, and was the widow of Angelo Ianni from Casalvieri. She was a regular visitor to Mortale, especially at festa time, and was much respected and loved by everyone who had the pleasure to meet and know her.
Our sincere condolences go to her children Paolo, Daniela and Gianluca, to her grandchildren and to her very many nieces, nephews and extended family all around the world.

Thanks to my daughter Siobhan and her daughter Isabella, I was able to visit auntie Olga on Monday, before the feast of Sant’Antonio on the 13th June and again on the Saturday, when she had been moved back to her home in Casalvieri. One of the main reasons for my trip had been to see her for what I thought would be the last time. Paolo, Gianluca and Daniela are owed a huge debt of gratitude from all of us who grieve with them for the loss of a truly wonderful human being. May our Good Lord grant her a well earned and Eternal rest.
