Florence Forte

I am very sorry to hear of the death of Florence Forte, née Booth, who passed away in Exmouth yesterday after a short illness.  Aged 97, she was the widow of Giuseppe Forte, and much-loved mother of Anita and Alan Forte.  She is pictured here in c. 1950 just after she was married.

Sincere condolences go to them, along with Florence’s grandchildren, great grandchildren and entire extended family in Devon.

Anna Brolly

Condolences to the Brolly and Forte families from Northern Ireland, following the recent death of Anna Brolly, née Forte, at the age of 93.  Anna grew up working and then running the family catering business, and was the mayor of Armagh in 2002/03.  A tribute from the local Armagh newspaper can be found here.

Anna was the daughter of Domenico Antonio Forte from Mortale and Carmela Vella from Casalattico, and our thoughts are with all her children, grandchildren and extended family.

Welcome to the Family

Congratulations to Terrie and Ben Langdown, on the birth of their gorgeous girl, Lottie, who arrived on 2nd August.  Lottie is their third child, a new sister for Charlie and Lilly.  Ben is the elder son of Adelina and Tony, and a grandson of the late Patsy and Gerry Forte from Swanage, London, Bristol and Belfast.

Welcome to the Forte family, Lottie!

Festa Films and Photos

A new 28-minute film showing highlights of the 2019 Festa di S. Antonio in Mortale has just been placed on the website.  It can be found on the Festas on Film page or by clicking here.

During this year’s festa, Ben Langdown captured many priceless moments in an extensive set of fantastic photographs which can be seen on his photography website.  The full gallery can be viewed by clicking here and a slide show can be watched by clicking here.

In addition, a new 5-minute film showing footage of the 2017 Festa di S. Antonio in Mortale has also been placed on the website.  My thanks go to Peter Evans, who took the film, and this can also be found on the Festas on Film page or by clicking here.
