Charlie Forte

We are all very sad to hear the news that Charlie passed away on Sunday morning at a hospice in Isola del Liri.  He was 58 years old.

Charlie was the son of Jean and the late Michael Forte (Llandudno/London/Mortale), father of Joe, Matteo, Giacomo and Cosmo, and brother of Nick, Juliana, Michael and Carolyn.

Our sincere and heartfelt condolences go to Charlie’s mother, Jean, his four boys, his brothers and sisters and the whole family.  You are all very much in our thoughts.

I lived next door but one to Charles and Nicholas when they lived in Wrexham as
young children and we often played together. I have fond memories of playing in their garden and my family
often visited their family restaurant – The Steak and Claret. I remembered his birthday was June 26 and told my sister Charlie must be 60 today . It was then that she sent this sad post. My sincere condolences to your family. My family have happy memories of Michael, Jean, Charlie and Nicholas when they lived in north Wales.
We lost contact after they moved to Llandudno but I often think of the family when I pass their old house.

I went to school with Charlie, and he wangled me a job for the summer at his Dad’s hotel. It genuinely changed my life, I left the suffocating snobbery of public school and much to my parents chagrin started to live life in the real world.
I now live in the USA and have lived my life as a bit of a hedonist, as a climber and engineer.
Charlie loved music and I remember when he used to DJ in the disco in Llandudno, he was in nivarna. Charlie also (before it was trendy) showed me a great recipe of ice cream with a shot of espresso!
Over the years I have lost many good friends doing what they loved and the ones who shone the brightest always seem to be taken first. I know it’s been a long time since his death and still I thank you all for Charlie!
