A selection of Mortale Festas caught on film over the years
Festas on Film
For many years, there have always been two annual festas with a procession in Mortale. The first and most important is dedicated to Mortale's patron saint, S. Antonio di Padova, and always takes place on 13th June. The second is dedicated to the Madonna del Carmine and has more recently taken place on the evening of the second Saturday in October.
The earlier films here were taken by Ettore Forte (Swanage) and digitised by Tony Langdown. They are mostly unedited and capture the highlights of these important celebrations, which have been part of the fabric of Mortalese history for nearly two centuries now.
