A Family Christening in 1954

In this film, we see clips taken in Hove at my cousin James' christening in 1954.  This film was recently discovered by my cousins in the collection of my late uncle Nino and aunt Luisa Forte.  It shows most of the Brighton Fortes gathering outside the Church of the Sacred Heart, in Hove, where most family events took place.

The film shows rare footage of my grandparents Alfonso and Filomena Forte, as well as Uncle Tony and Aunt Mariannina from Bournemouth, Olimpio and Iolanda Forte from Bexhill, and James' godparents, Tony and Vilma Gizzi from Ashford.  Vilma Caira is the daughter of Brigita (Betty) Forte from Stirling and originally from Mortale.

My thanks go to the family of uncle Nino and aunt Luisa for getting this 9.5 mm old format film digitised and for allowing me to put this on my website.
