A 20-minute film showing highlights of the 2015 Festa di S. Antonio in Mortale is now available in the Festas On Film section of the website.
The film is in 1080HD quality, but can be adjusted according to your internet speed by clicking the settings button at the base of the film.
They’re new, because they have been newly discovered.
They’re old, because they date back to the early 1950s.
The first was taken in Mortale in 1952 and, already, we have identified many of the people on the film. It is the earliest film taken in Mortale that I have on the website so far. The second was taken in Hove in 1954 at my cousin James’ christening.
Both were recently discovered in a cupboard in my late Aunt Luisa’s flat, and I am grateful to my cousins for getting the films digitised and allowing me to put them on to this website for others to see.
How many other films lie undiscovered in cupboards around the world? Do please let me know if you need help in getting any old media digitised and preserved, so that future generations can enjoy them and so that our ancestors can be identified and remembered, before we reach the point where nobody recognises them.

In a few weeks’ time, a film showing highlights will be put into the Film section.
There is now a webcam on the roof of the Casalattico Comune. The image is updated every 20 seconds and it gives people the opportunity to view the scene at any time from afar. You will see, for example, that snow has fallen in the last 24 hours on our mountains and beyond.

A short 4½ minute film showing highlights of this year’s Festa della Madonna del Carmine is now available on the website. The Festa took place on the evening of Saturday, 11th October in Mortale and was well attended.
