Congratulations to Lucia, Donato (David), Mario and Tony Forte and all the family at Eastbourne, who are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their business in St. Leonards today.
Originally owned and run by their parents, Augusto and Minchetta, it started as Forte’s Ice Cream Parlour in 1965, and ten years ago, the highly successful Fortes Pizzeria was born. With large photos of Mortale on the wall and both Pasta and Pizza Monforte on the menu, it really is a true Italian jewel, and brings a touch of our Italian authenticity to the Sussex seafront.
Customers always leave happy, full and content, not just because they have eaten so incredibly well, but because every lady gets an authentic Italian goodbye kiss … or two! With such exemplary customer care, no wonder the repeat business is so reliable.

Hello Paul!
I contacted you some time ago as I am a regular, correction, part of the furniture at the Pizzeria. I would like to put a little something in our local rag The Observer regards the 50 birthday and was wondering if you could draw something up or if it would be ok for me to use what you have posted. I have asked Giovanni to mail me his pictures of the 4 from his phone to my email address. Please let me know your thoughts of putting something in the Observer.

Hi Barbara, I am Mario’s daughter Sandra, sorry I was in the restaurant earlier and hadn’t realised that was why you wanted to get in touch with Paul. Even back in the 70s, when I knew them in Eastbourne, Mario, David, Tony and all the family always gave such fantastic service with a smile; their standards were always consistently high and the food delicious. It was always a pleasure to be in their company………….plus they were all very good footballers. Lots of happiness for the future Mario, David, Tony and all the family and thanks for the great memories.

Dear Family Forte
I hope you do not mind me contacting you but I am trying to find a Lucia Forte who worked with Miss Forte running Forte’s Ice Cream Parlour in Newquay Cornwall. My mother Mary Lindsay became friends with Miss Forte and with Lucia when she worked at the Great Western Hotel in Newquay. I remember going to the parlour with my mother and it was lovely. Lucia sent my mother a Christmas card for years but never included her own latest address. I look forward to hearing from you.
