Huge congratulations go to Ben and Terrie Langdown on the birth of their son, Charlie, who was born on Wednesday night and weighed in at 7 lbs.
Ben is the eldest son of proud new grandparents, Adelina and Tony Langdown, and grandson of the late Pat and Gerry Forte (Swanage).
At the end of the formal proceedings of this year’s Festa di S. Antonio on 13th June, a plaque was unveiled by the local mayor outside Mortale’s church to rename the church square as Piazza Charles Forte, in memory of the late Lord Forte, who was born in Mortale in 1908.
The square, which has recently been refurbished, was then blessed my our local priest, Don Emanuele.
Congratulations to Michele Forte (son of Loreto and Elizabeth) and Angela Gill from Bexhill, who were married yesterday evening in Mortale. It really was the most amazing wedding in the most amazing location and in the company of the most amazing people.
Thank you to Michele and Angela for inviting us all and we wish you lots of health and happiness.

Thank you so much to all the organisers of the event for making this such a special occasion for all of us who were able to attend. It really is much appreciated and there is nothing better than to be together as one big family on this important day for the village.
Everyone is looking forward to this year’s Festa di S. Antonio which takes place tomorrow on 13th June in Mortale. There is a mass in the morning, followed by a procession around the village and then dancing in the evening. The format has remained the same for many years and the most important thing is that it draws together so many of us who are spread around the world. Bentornati tutti a Mortale!
